Happy holidays! ...And an update on Poetry in Purgatory!
Rise and shine, Dwellers - and happy (belated) holidays!

First off, the team and I want to thank you for your continued support. While things have been quite silent lately, we're gaining new followers and players every single day and that's truly a never-ending source of happiness and motivation for us.
As of writing this, almost 200 000 people have played our games and that's truly beyond what any of us ever envisioned when starting this studio. So... THANK YOU!! <3
And speaking of silence - rest assured, there are valid reasons for it, *and* we're still working on Poetry in Purgatory as much as we possibly can!
I'd like to share something personal, which also happens to be the main reason why things have slowed down a fair bit. Last June, my wife gave birth to our first baby, a lil' boy lovingly dubbed Tymespeck by our Discord community. Becoming a father has definitely put a lot of things into perspective for me, not least of all the place making games has in my life, given that I'm already working full-time as a grade school teacher and I do these games in my spare time to begin with. Add a baby to that equation and... yeah, it's a bit of a puzzle!
To that end, I can somewhat safely share with you that Poetry in Purgatory's vision has changed quite a bit. There won't be a number of parts as originally envisioned, instead we're actually working on the full game right now, meaning that the next time something comes out... it will actually be the whole thing. The whole nine yards, as it were. Meaning that what's currently available will act as a demo for the game proper.
I've done a full outline for the whole game's story and routes, and Alcinus has received the full list of visual assets needed to complete it. We're aiming for a 2027 release, most likely around Summer. Yes, I know that's a long time to wait, but... it's really the only way. The reality of being a parent is that I will no longer be able to work on game dev in random evenings and during weekends as I used to before, I have to plan this stuff out differently.
To tell you the truth, I was worried initially that I wouldn't be able to complete the game at all. I might expand this line of thought in a postmortem down the road, but the gist of it is that completing Poetry in Purgatory is extremely important to me. This game is the sum of everything I've learned as a game dev, and I don't think I'd be able to live in a world where it gets stuck in development limbo (or, I guess, development purgatory...).
In other words, this is happening. All the acts, all the routes, all the different endings (there are more than you probably expect)... it's all coming. Eventually.
With that, our work continues, and I - along with the team, of course - sincerely hope you'll be patient with us for a while longer. And, again, happy holidays!!
All the love,
Tymedust
