A look back on the week that was...

I didn't write a single word last week, and this is the reason why - y'know, in case you're wondering lol. :) I'm 50 hours in at the moment so with any luck I'm juuuuust about ready to get back to game development! Heh heh.

Luckily for me, I work with awesome people and two new CGs are done; getting the artwork side of things ever closer to completion. The latest piece of art, which will be in the new demo although dependent on a certain less than favorable choice (ominous, right?), is particularly striking; definitely leaning into the horror side of things quite a lot. Can't wait to hear what y'all think! :)

But enough about that, here's a dramatic reveal!

NaNoRenO 2022, here I come!

My first VN jam, and my second jam overall, I'm excited to "throw my hat in the ring" for this one. One game in one single month. Hectic to say the least, but I'm pacing myself and definitely writing a script based around the time limit. I'm super excited!

Can I tell you anything about it? Sure!

The game is called A Day in the Life (see title image above). You play as Isola, a 17 year old girl who is an "extroverted introvert", struggling to strike a balance between shifting moods, anxiety, a complicated family situation and her deep love of pretty much everything pop culture related. Luckily for her, she has an astonishing wit... although she mainly uses it for crude humor. 

And yes, this is the same Isola who's in Meanwhile in Riva, only one year earlier... making this game a prequel! 

Yes, I'm making prequels for unreleased games, just because I damn well can! :D

I'm programming and writing the game, while the following awesome people round out the crew:

Carrot Patch Games: Artwork
Skolaztika: GUI and additional design
Apol: Music

Carrot's unique artstyle, Skolaztika's brilliant design skills and Apol's catchy beats will all contribute to something that I hope will turn out really special.

If you played the Meanwhile in Riva demo (a new one is coming soon), I hope you'll enjoy this look back on what the characters were up to before their lives got turned upside down by spooky events. If you haven't, well, I hope you'll enjoy it anyway! ;)
