A look back on the week that was...

Current game word count: 38,713 (+ 3967 since last devlog)

That's a lot of words! Guess it's pretty obvious that I've been off work, huh? While I like my job, I can't help but sometimes wish I didn't have it, just so that I could go hard as a developer each and every week. Ah well! :)

I've made the most out of this week and I definitely have a lot to show for it. Aside from almost 4k words and a couple new finished character specific events (5 out of 25 optional ones are now complete!), I've also finally fully re-programmed the game from the stats system to the traits system. Yes, it really took that long to go through the whole game and update it to match the new gameplay, totally worth it though, in my opinion. I have other fun news too, but that will have to wait! ^^

Oh, but I just have to share some stellar artwork that Carrot Patch Games made of Camille, Isola and Meritxell, too! It's the first time another artist gives their rendition of my characters and it's just such a cool feeling, and I can't thank Carrot enough for that. <3 Be sure to check out Our Wonderland if you enjoy this style of art, or cool horror games in general!

Now, it's time for this week's character bio! 

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Meri!

She's the youngest of the group, and her sometimes childish behavior makes that kind of clear (even though she isn't really that much younger than Cam). Her exterior does hide a shrewd businesswoman-in-the-making however, as she's managed to grow quite a following on CollectoGram, one of the most famous apps on the RivaWeb. On CollectoGram, people share their collections of various things, and Meri's niche is ladybugs (just look at all those pins...). Always full of energy, and prone to hugging/tackling her friends, her emotional highs are as high as her emotional lows are low.

All of my characters have parts of me in them. Like me, Meri has a strange obsession with ladybugs (made even weirder in my case by the fact that I absolutely hate all other insects). Like me also, she spends a lot of time online trying to grow a following. I did that more successfully back in the day though, so these days I guess I could use her help in making more people find my game! Heh.
